A crop of the previous image. I couldn't let that detail go unseen ... sometimes I want to submit absolutely huuuuge pictures.

Richmond Park, London, October 2002
Canon EOS 300, Fuji Neopan 100 Acros, lab, scanned neg
Criticism welcome on both versions

Excellent photo. The cropping is perfect! I love how the tree and its shadow frame the scene so well. Very good work.

OK, I haven't looked at the un-cropped version yet, but this one of yours caught my eye in my devwatch list... and looking at it here... it's fantastic. A real 'Watching the world go by' kind of shot...

The strong lighting areas with deep shadows also helps a lot.

Great shot. :) (Smile)

Love the story being told by this photo, Ash.
So strange isnt it, the choices people make in the observation of life.
Wondering here which is more interesting, the view of you, or of t he person in the chair.

Definitely do like the crop here.
Very much like a 70mm frame.

I totally like the cropping: the white artificial border and the black border of the photo itself (tree and shadow) make it somehow unusual... it's perfectly fitting the photo Thumbs Up

Excellent image. Must confess I haven't seen the un-cropped version, so I can't really comment on the relative effectiveness of each.

Love the way the bulk of the tree contrasts against the sitting figure.

eh! *()@*(*!*, i havent taken a photo in months! lol, gotta catch up
u Must of used a Orange Filter, it's and intresting one, there is alot going on in this photograph, the crop makes it look like a film frame. Also love the shadow and the whites of the grass, the persion in the middel is gives the eye somthing to foucus on, I love that sillhoute of the tree, very nice, One could look deeper and say it's man vs machine, I dont know what i improve, it's a great image, nice

i really like the contrast, both in the image and in the content.

This is the demonstration of what a crop can do. All what I wrote in the other version here is lost, but comes out better the journalistic point. Interesting.
