Description
I'll leave it to you to work out what kind of shop this is
After I'd finished shooting the fire I realised I was late meeting Paul and rushed off to Covent Garden. We came back later, when the fire was already out but there was still a small crowd milling around. A reporter from the Evening Standard (London newspaper) asked if we had taken any shots when the fire was burning, and I said I had. I gave him my two rolls of film, and he took my name and address. I told him the films were b&w and he said that was fine.
We checked the next three editions of the ES, but no mention of the fire and no pics. I presumed that since the fire was quite small they hadn't bothered to run the story (or my pics were shite) Anyway the films arrived by bike the next day, undeveloped and accompanied by the following note:
Dear Mr Mason,
Please find enclosed your films kindly supplied to us yesterday. I am sorry we were unable to them and have not been able to process them as we only process C41. Thank you again for your efforts.
So can you believe a newspaper can't process b&w? Sheesh.
