This is beautiful. And honestly, exactly what I was looking for. Do you mind if I use it in a photomanip? Credit will be given, and profit won't come from it.
I went to the cliffs myself, in september. This is a great photo, but I think you'd be able to get more of the drastic "into nothing" feel if you showed more of the cliff itself, rather then the sky.
Oh well... it's been taken, and you got to see the stunning beauty yourself. Hopefully that will prove positive in rendering your perspectives in both art and life. Amazing place, innit?. Happy trails.
As an inner Irish, as having an Irish Heart, as feeling home only there, as my every heart's beat beats for Ireland and it's beauty, as this is a gorgeous and so perfectly describing photo, I can't anything but fave this!
OK... I've been away for a week, and you've posted, like... a gazillion pictures... and I'm snowed under with work, so cannot even begin to properly look at or comment on them all... so I chose the one that most struck me from my devwatch view, and in full view it is fantastic... I really love it.
The texture of the rock, the compostion of the edge running off into the distance, the cloudy sky, and the simple framing... all work really well... fantastic stuff..
Nicely done Ash.
I would not have thought of that shot.
Well done on packing in the whole tonal range with a tight, almost perfect composition.
Mr. A Adams would be a proud tutor.
oooh goshdarn, now this is a nice one. that cracked, patterned earth. reminds of some desert scenes, except that the 100 meter drop makes it all a little edgy (no pun intended).
It looks so calm and lonely, very pleasing to look at for a long time. The cracks add much to the outcome, for adding a great contrast to the almost plain white background.
There is only one moment or a short period that we think something as "nothing", don't you agree? I mean now it could be nothing (not for this, general) but you don't really know what will give your tomorrow...
Beautiful photo Ash
Very nice that the cliff doesnt cut the picture in half, but instead take the diagonal route. the fading from ocean to fog to sea is really beautiful. i Think the puddles on the clif are great foacl points too
damm, in this trip you did realy good, i love the texture in the fourground, and white background, it's simply stunning stuff, these photos are stunning works of landscape photography +fav
thanks -- it is a long way down! probably about 100 meters. I was impressed that they let people walk (ok crawl) around and dangle their feet over the edge -- in england I reckon they would have built a big railing all the way around
And it looks great... I love how the background fades away into the upper left corner... wonderful detail on the rock and a slight cringe in my toes because that looks like a long way down!

i knew that it could only be one place.
and then, your words were the confirmation.
and you really made me miss those moments.
and the wind. and the ocean spray. the sound.
and i do believe, this is one of the most brilliant photographs i have ever seen of the cliffs.

Exceptional picture.
the title is simply perfect - wide open horizonless space
Great shot.
The black and white makes it all the better, whether it was intentional or not (though, heh, why wouldn't it be?)
